Algarve Animal Parks

Badoca Safari Park

A large African-themed nature reserve at Vila Nova St. Andres, with giraffes, monkeys, tigers, birds of prey, buffalo, springboks, waterbucks, impalas, antilopes, yaks and zebras. The park works closely on animal projects with Lisbon Zoo. All these animals plus other breeds / species are mixed and live 'free-range'. Except for the giraffes, that are kept indoors in the winter, and obviously the tigers and monkeys have their own pens - otherwise that would be just anarchy! Just off the A2 motorway that heads up to Lisbon.

Krazy World

Petting park with variety of farm and more exotic animals. Amazonia section with alligators, crocs, snakes and a snapping turtle with a vicious streak a mile wide. Not for petting obviously. Also a great adventure playground for the kids, bouncy castle, swimming pool. Rides on the Shetland ponies cost extra. Website not up as we write but 'coming soon' (we are assured).

Lagos Zoo

Species from all over the world. An educational farm, exotic plants and animal activities. I'm going to the zoo, how about you?

Zoomarine

A water park with dolphins, seals and sea lion shows. There are also rides, a reptile house, a tropical fish aquarium and a large swimming pool area.
